The American Motorcyclist Association launched a new nationwide campaign encouraging adults to get kids out riding in the dirt — Take a Kid Dirt Biking Day — and the inaugural event on May 22 was a hit. Parents, motocross tracks and organizations got involved with the common mission to cultivate the next generation of riders, and the photos were exciting to see.

“Starting kids on bicycles and dirt bikes while they’re young is key to building the skills and confidence kids need to go on to be skilled riders in the future” said AMA Editorial Director Mitch Boehm. “The AMA works to preserve, protect and promote motorcycling, and passing the passion for two wheels on to future generations is an important part of fulfilling that mission.”

From kids riding Strider Bikes to STACYC electric bikes to mini dirt bikes, watching kids and their families get involved in the inaugural Take a Kid Dirt Biking Day campaign was a thrill. Thank you to all the people who got involved this year.

Start planning for next year’s Take a Kid Dirt Biking Day in May 2022. We plan to go big!
