While the Midwest swing cooled off a two-year hot streak for Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Eli Tomac, the return to the West sparked some embers that did more than just heat up his 2023 title contention.

Leading 13 of the 23 laps at Seattle AMA Supercross, Tomac secured his sixth win of the year to take a share of No. 1 in the 450SX standings along with Red Bull KTM’s Cooper Webb, who finished in second to make it seven-straight events with a podium finish.

Tomac’s win also marked his 50th career 450SX win, tying him with AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer James Stewart for second on the all-time 450SX win list.

With Tomac and Webb taking the top two spots, Troy Lee Designs Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing’s Justin Barcia made his third appearance on the podium this season with his third-place finish in Seattle.

Tomac and Webb now sit tied for first in the 450SX standings with 248 points each. Team Honda HRC’s Chase Sexton fell to 22 points down on the pair after a disappointing finish in fifth Saturday.

Not much changed in the five-week hiatus from 250SX West action as Team Honda HRC’S Jett Lawrence tallied his fourth win of the year to increase his lead in the season standings to 23 points.

AMA Supercross action continues with Round 12 on April 8 in Arizona.
