Six-race series to determine AMA National EnduroCross Championship

Cycle City Promotions to stage events in California, Idaho

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — National champions will be crowned during a six-race EnduroCross series, a closed-course extreme off-road discipline organized by Cycle City Promotions and sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association.

The series, which gets underway Oct. 23, pits riders head-to-head for a chance to win an AMA National Championship at the end of the season.

“After careful consideration regarding the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the safety of our racers, spectators and staff, the 2020 series will be split between two locations that we feel will be the best fit for safe, but exciting, racing action,” said Tod Hammock, president and founder of Cycle City Promotions. “We are thrilled that we are going to be able to host the 2020 EnduroCross Racing Series and plan to do so in as safe a manner as possible for everyone involved.”

Hammock said the series will be live streamed via a subscription service and then released at a later date on network television. Viewing details will be announced soon.

EnduroCross is a one-day program featuring classes for Pros, Amateurs, Women and 35+ vets. The events are moto-based, with heats and mains. The man-made tracks feature obstacles, including logs, rocks and water crossings, along with more extreme obstacles, such as K-rails and tractor tires. The courses vary in length in each round and cover extremely difficult terrain.

“EnduroCross is an exciting discipline that promises enthusiastic competition at all six of the one-day events,” said AMA Off-road Racing Manager Erek Kudla. “We are looking forward to the start of this series and appreciate the efforts of Tod and his crew to ensure all COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines are followed.”
