Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association charters with American Motorcyclist Association

All CMRA events to be AMA-sanctioned in 2020

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The American Motorcyclist Association welcomes the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association to its ranks of racing promoters for 2020.

All nine of this year’s CMRA events will be AMA-sanctioned, including the season-opening round this weekend at Motor Speedway Resort Houston in Angleton, Texas.

“The CMRA has a history of producing talented motorcycle road racers and putting on excellent amateur road racing events,” AMA Track Racing Manager Ken Saillant said. “The AMA is very happy to count the CMRA among its road racing organizers. We look forward to a mutually beneficial partnership this year and beyond.”

The CMRA is a nonprofit that was founded in 1974. It provides opportunities for amateur motorcycle road racing and performance riding education in the South Central United States.

“The CMRA appreciates the opportunity to work with the AMA as a sanctioning partner,” CMRA President Harry Tomlinson said. “This agreement provides all CMRA license holders access to the substantial benefits associated with AMA membership, in addition to providing a pathway for racers choosing to participate in MotoAmerica events.”
