Whether you ride street or dirt, the AMA website is worth taking some time to explore. In it, you’ll find useful information ranging from the dates and locations of the latest riding events to how to take advantage of money-saving discounts to how to get involved to protect your riding freedoms.
The website gives you the dates and locations for some of America’s biggest rallies; information about grand tours, adventure rides and dualsport rides as well as info about the AMA LongRider program, presented by Yuasa Battery, that gives you the chance to show others that you’re serious about riding your motorcycle. AMA members are invited to earn patches for various mileage milestones. Or you can let your miles accumulate for a Lifetime Mileage award at 25,000, 50,000, 100,000, 250,000, 500,000, 750,000 and 1 million miles.
The “Member Services” section of the AMA website offers “Deals and Discounts” that includes AMA discounts for gear and services including deals on Supercross and roadracing tickets, hotel rooms, motorcycle and car rentals, leather repair, motorcycle repair manuals, performance eyewear, Medjet services in case you are injured far from home, motorcycle luggage and more.
The “Rights” section of the website includes the latest government news related to motorcycling and suggests how you can get involved to fight for your rights. For example, current federal action alerts ask AMA members to support: A plan to restore Bonneville Salt Flats land speed record course, the federal Recreational Trails Program that has directly funded more than 25,000 trail projects nationwide since 1991 and the Recognizing the Protection of Motorsports Act (RPM Act, S. 2602) that would ensure that converting motor vehicles into competition-only vehicles remains legal. Street motorcycles are considered motor vehicles under the federal Clean Air Act.
