Members Appointed to AMA Recreational Riding Commissions


Forty-three individuals to address topics to improve recreational riding

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The American Motorcyclist Association announces the members of the AMA Recreational Riding Commissions, which are the volunteer groups that develop ways to improve and promote recreational motorcycle riding in the United States.

“I’m very pleased with the variety of ages, experiences and backgrounds of the individuals who will serve on these commissions,” said AMA Director of Member Activity Heather Wilson. “From the applications, it’s clear that these individuals are passionate about serving the AMA’s mission and continuously improving recreational riding. I look forward to the collaboration that will result in more resources, training and activity for recreational riders.”

There are four commissions:

  • AMA Adventure/Dual Sport Commission will consider adventure and dual sport rides.
  • AMA Road Riding Commission will discuss a variety of road-riding activities.
  • AMA Special Interest Commission will address women riders, disabled riders, youth riders and more.
  • AMA Trail/Off-Road Riding Commission will discuss trail rides and family enduros.

Commissions members meet at various times throughout the year to address topics and implement solutions important to the growth and overall experience of recreational motorcycle riding.

AMA Recreational Riding Commissions appointees must have an active AMA membership and be in good standing throughout their appointment. Each appointee serves a two-year term, beginning in January.

Applications for the 2021 term have closed. Those interested in becoming an AMA Recreational Riding Commissions member may apply by Sept. 1, 2021, for the 2022 term at americanmotorcyclist.com/recreational-riding-commissions.
