PICKERINGTON, Ohio (Aug. 11, 2026) — The American Motorcyclist Association extends its congratulations to the special award winners and class champions of the 2026 AMA Hillclimb Grand Championship, which was held in New Ulm, Minn., and hosted by the Flying Dutchmen Motorcycle Club.
“The Flying Dutchman Motorcycle Club did a tremendous job hosting the AMA Hillclimb Grand Championship, which saw the nation’s best amateur hillclimb racers compete at a high level,” AMA Track Racing Manager Ken Saillant said. “We are proud to recognize these special award winners and national champions after an outstanding weekend of racing up in Minnesota.”
The AMA honored four racers with special awards during the event, with Charlie Engnes of Beldenville, Wis., earning the ultimate prize of AMA Hillclimb Racer of the Year. Engnes scored victories in the 450, 600 and Four-Stroke classes en route to the special honor.
Bringing home the AMA Youth Hillclimb Racer of the Year was Jax Klos of Bay City, Wis., who won the Super Mini class and captured Youth King of the Hill honors, while AMA Vet/Senior Hillclimb Racer of the Year was Tim Cain of New Richmond, Wis., whose championships in the Masters and Senior classes pushed him to the award. Dale Sack of Clarks Grove, Minn., brought home the AMA ATV Hillclimb Racer of the Year, thanks to wins in the ATV 450 and ATV Senior classes.
In addition to his win in the Open class, Teagan Jalinek of Hawley, Minn., was crowned King of the Hill, winning the one-run class at the end of the event.
