Pitbike Motoscrambles provides unique racing experience on the AMA campus
Racing across a creek, through the woods and over a jump on the motocross track may sound like a full day racing several different disciplines, but at the AMA campus, all that can be accomplished with just one lap of Pitbike Motoscrambles competition.
With racing action across eight classes, the AMA Pitbike Motoscrambles on Saturday, Oct. 17, combined traditional motocross with a shorter trail loop, sized perfectly for pitbikes, and it certainly delivered, leaving riders who competed wanting more.
“I think the course was awesome,” Austin Seely said. “I wish we did it a little bit more often. Maybe two or three times a year.”
The track welcomed riders of all ages, with children competing in a pair of youth classes, while adults shredded on larger bikes in the Stock 110, Trailbike, Stock 110 Limited, Open Electric, Vet (30+) and 12-Inch Open classes.
Youth (9-12) winner Isaac O’Donnell enjoyed racing on the motocross track, while Youth (4-8) champion Juleanna Pitcock preferred riding in the woods, which offered challenges for riders of all ages.
“Seeing the creek out there was so beautiful,” Pitcock said.
Like his daughter, Graham Pitcock also took home a victory — claiming the Stock Limited 110 class crown. Additionally, Graham rode alongside his daughter while she got her feet wet on the track prior to her win.
“I went out and rode the Youth 4-8 class [with Juleanna],” Pitcock said.
