AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer named 2023 Legend of the Sport

The Quail Motorcycle Gathering announced March 1 that it will honor AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer and flat-track legend Bubba Shobert as the 2023 Legend of the Sport during its 13th annual event.
Taking place May 6 in Carmel, Calif., the Quail Motorcycle Gathering celebrates the evolution of motorcycling with more than 300 vintage and modern motorcycles, scooters, and bicycles. Shobert, a three-time AMA Grand National Flat Track champion and 1988 AMA Superbike champion, will be recognized at the event for his accomplishments and impact on motorcycling.
“Bubba Shobert is an icon in the motorcycling world, so we are thrilled to honor him as our Legend of the Sport this May,” said Kai Lermen, general manager of Quail Lodge & Golf Club. “Each year, we recognize those influential individuals who have made significant achievements and contributions to motorcycling, and Bubba’s accomplishments speak for themselves.”
One of the few racers to have won in mile, half-mile, TT steeplechase, short track and road racing competitions, Shobert will be available to chat with attendees on-stage at the event.
The Quail Motorcycle Gathering is a family-friendly event that offers activities for all ages. Among the activities is The Quail Ride, which is a limited-entry, 100-mile ride that takes place May 5.
