Blendzall Named Official Oil Sponsor of 2021 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days

Longtime racing lubricant brand to connect with vintage bike fans during July 23-25 event

PICKERINGTON, Ohio (May 17, 2021) — Blendzall, a powersports lubricant brand with more than 60 years in motorcycle racing, was recently named the Official Oil Sponsor of the 2021 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, which will take place July 23-25 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio

“I am very proud that Blendzall has stepped up to be the Official Oil of the 2021 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days,” said Blendzall’s David Schloss. “The Blendzall brand is rich in tradition and heritage, and extends over 60 years in motorcycle racing. Not only are we supporting the AMA by sponsoring the event, it’s a great opportunity for us to connect with many decades of Blendzall customers and hear their stories about using Blendzall when they got into riding and racing.”

Founded in 1959 by Ray Hook in California, the company developed its unique blend of two-stroke lubricant that included castor oil, leading to the name Blendzall. Through the years the brand has been used by many top racers, including Harry Taylor who took his Hodaka to victory at Daytona in 1968 and several factory race teams during the 1970s. Today, Blendzall-sponsored riders include Pro motocrosser Mike Alessi, vintage road racer Mark Morrow, and vintage flat tracker Zach Kerestes.

“VMD has been a personal favorite of mine for the past several years,” Schloss added, “as it gives me the opportunity to get my vintage bikes out on the track. I look forward to the sweet smell of Blendzall filling the Mid-Ohio grounds this year.”

Motocross fans will want to drop by the Blendzall booth for a chance to meet pro motocrosser Mike Alessi. Alessi will be on hand to sign autographs and chat with fans from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday during AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days. Alessi will also attend Saturday’s Pit Bike Race and will present the Blendzall first place plaques to the four class winners.

“Blendzall has big-time history in racing,” says AMA Editorial Director Mitch Boehm, “and I remember well the logo and the bottles — and the smells — during my days racing two-stroke Yamahas in the 1970s. It’s great to have them on board for VMD this year…it’s an ideal match of product and event.”

The 2021 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days will feature an On Any Sunday theme, celebrating 50 years of the moto documentary, including a special screening of the beloved film. The event will also include all the vintage-oriented happenings that classic-bike fans love, including Hall of Fame activities, road and off-road racing, and the legendary swap meet.
