Job Description

The American Motorcycle Association (AMA), the premier membership association dedicated to promoting the motorcycling lifestyle and protecting the future of motorcycling, is seeking an experienced Web Designer / Front-End Developer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for continually updating and maintaining the design, usability and design infrastructure of the AMA websites, ensuring that they are optimized and fully functional and are represented visually in a clear and concise manner. Provides support and assistance to Communications Department in creating and envisioning all design, including digital and some print, for editorial, promotional or transactional purposes in alignment with goals and mission of the AMA. Provides design support and guidance on social media, particularly in ways it can be used to enhance and extend design consistency across all AMA media properties.

This position is not remote. This position is located at our headquarters in Pickerington, OH.

Job Responsibilities

  • Creation and optimization of all web graphics
  • Use Adobe XD and UI designs
  • Creates user-experience optimized responsive web designs
  • Complete cross-browser testing to ensure user satisfaction
  • Establish guidelines, best practices and standards related to designing and maintaining accessible website
  • Strong understanding of front-end web design
  • Use SEO best practices to add new posts and pages to websites
  • Understanding of advertising technologies and best practices
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, XD)
  • Use Adobe XD and UI designs
  • Experience with WordPress, PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Understanding of responsive web design best practices
  • Understanding of user experience design best practices
  • Familiarity with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
  • Great understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and advertising technologies and best practices.
  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
  • Fantastic time management skills with the ability to multi-task.


  • A degree in Web Design, Digital Imaging, Multimedia Design, or a related qualification.
  • 2 years of work experience in Website Design.
