Garret Keister: 2012 AMA ATV Extreme Dirt Track Prod B class champion

March 19, 2013

Garret Keister, of Harrison, Ark., raced the AMA ATV Extreme Dirt Track National Championship Series in 2012 in the Prod B class and finished first.

Although Keister felt all the competition was tough, one person stood out in particular.

"Paige Elizabeth was really tough off the starts and sometimes I would have to run hard to catch her to finish on top," he said.

"I love the speed and adrenaline rush at the start of the race," Keister said. "I love the hunt of getting that pass at just the right time in the race."

Keister has big plans for the 2013 season.

"I want to race and win the Production A and Open A classes. Or possibly the 16-24 years or Pro-Am class."

When Keister isn't racing he enjoys playing basketball and riding his trail 450R and dirtbike.

"I would like to thank my sponsors, without them it would be tough to compete at the level I do," Keister said. "First of all, my mom and dad for taking me to the races all over the country. My dad builds all my motors and makes sure we are ready for every single race. HandH Extreme ATV does all of our head porting, without them we wouldn't build the power we do. SKD Motors, Fly Racing, Web Cams, CV4, Invision Artworks does some awesome graphics, Laker Customs for Plastics, Yamaha of Harrison, Boat World, and Hoosier Tires. New 2013 sponsors are Dasa Racing, Lonestar Racing, Rath Racing, Crank Works, Houser Racing, Defiant Powdercoating and Service Honda."

"2012 was a great year. I finished on the podium every National race we ran and wasn't passed all year, hopefully my success will carry over to the 2013 season," said Keister. "I'm really looking forward to the race season getting started. We are ready to race and hopefully the series will continue to grow."
