Scott Raine of Mayetta, Kan., has some big plans for the 2013 season in the AMA Vintage Dirt Track National Championship Series.

The 51-year-old racer earned the national champion title in the Vintage Dirt Track 250 Masters class in 2012, and finished 10th in the 50-plus Vintage Open class.

"I'm planning to defend my national championship in the 250 Masters class as well as improve my position in the 50-plus Vintage Open class, providing I can get enough financial backing to travel the great distances to the events," he says.

Raine enjoys the series because of the variety of the race tracks, the high quality of the track preparation and the ability to meet, and compete against, racers from all across the United States.

"I have been impressed with te hospitality shown my by promoters and track owners/operators," he says. "The quality of track prep has been outstanding. My only regret is that there are no races scheduled west of the Mississippi River."

Raine has been racing for more than 25 years. When he's not racing, he enjoys hunting, fishing ando ther outdoor activities with his son.

He says he wants to thank his sponsors: ArmsBid.com, Kulls Old Town Station, Kull Auction & Real Estate, Forbes Landing RV Park and mom and dad.

"Special thans to my employer, Heartland Alarms, for allowing me the time off to travel to races, and Bultaco Bill Snyder for advice and sharing travel expenses."
