August 02, 2012

The Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade of the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce, chaired by U.S. Rep. Mary Bono Mack (R-Calif.), held a hearing entitled “Oversight of the Consumer Product Safety Commission”, on Aug. 2.

According to the Subcommittee, the hearing “examine[d] the Commission’s implementation of changes Congress enacted one year ago to the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008, as well as its handling of other emerging consumer product issues.”

The American Motorcyclist Association sent a letter addressed to the Chairman and Ranking Member applauding the subcommittee for holding this hearing and for its work in passing the lead law fix bill.
