    Billy Hamill dominated the first round of the AMA Speedway National Championship Series at Costa Mesa Speedway in California on May 30. Hamill won every ride he completed. A mechanical failure in his second ride robbed him of the chance of a full house in the Grand Prix style event.

    The 2015 KTM RC Cup kicked off its inaugural season of racing at the historic Road America racetrack in Elkhart Lake, Wis., with the MotoAmerica Series. Twenty-seven participants competed in the spec class aboard KTM RC 390 Racebikes where Lincoln, California’s Gage McAllister swept the weekend with a double victory to claim the early points lead in the five-race RC Cup Series.

For the non-motorcycling public, this created an unfortunate opportunity for a gross and patently inaccurate generalization -- that all motorcyclists are the bad guys.

    After a day where 450 Class points leader Eli Tomac pushed his undefeated record to five motos before crashing out of the lead in the second moto, it was Red Bull KTM's Ryan Dungey who took advantage of the opportunity to earn his first overall win of the season and take over the championship lead. In the 250 Class, Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha's Jeremy Martin claimed his second overall victory of the season with a 1-1 effort, moving back into the points lead he held after the opening round of the season.

    The Renewable Fuel Standard proposals announced today by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency would increase the risk of misfueling for motorcyclists and all-terrain-vehicle owners by forcing the widespread availability of higher-ethanol fuel blends, such as E15, the American Motorcyclist Association reports.
